The Growth Award

The Tree City USA Growth Award is presented annually by the Arbor Day Foundation to participating Tree City USA communities that demonstrate a high level of tree care and community engagement during the calendar year. All Tree City USA communities applying for recertification are eligible to apply for a Growth Award during the online renewal process. The Growth Award recognizes major milestones and annual activities in five categories that combine to build sustainable community forestry programs over the long term. Each activity is worth between 1 and 10 points. Communities must document activities that total at least 10 points from any category or combination of categories to receive a Growth Award.
