Technical Resources-Tree-Protection Measures

Any time there is construction and development planned in an area where there are trees, the trees will need to be protected. The International Society of Arboriculture and the USDA Forest Service have been providing educational materials and training on this topic to foresters and arborists for decades. One premiere publication for training has been  Trees and Development: A Technical Guide to Preservation of Trees During Land Construction

In Illinois, the AISWCD houses the Urban Manual. This manual provides standards, drawings and specifications for construction projects in an effort to reduce soil erosion. Trees are covered in the standards:
