Report the Occurrence of an Endangered or Threatened Species

The IDNR Natural Heritage (Biotics 4) Database maintains data on Illinois’ endangered and threatened species as well information for several other significant natural resources in the state. More information about the database can be found here.
If you wish to report the occurrence of an endangered or threatened species, you can do so by:
- Completing an Endangered/Threatened Species Occurrence and Sighting Report Form and submitting it to Tara Kieninger, IDNR Natural Heritage Database Manager, at Tara.Kieninger@illinois.gov. For individuals who are not already recognized as species experts by database staff, the addition of a photo voucher of the species occurrence is required as part of the report.
