Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

Accessibility at Lowden:

  • Parking - All parking areas are asphalt with designated accessible parking spots. There are no paved sidewalks attached to the parking lots except at the campground shower building. Park office door frame has a slight step up that may require assistance for a wheelchair.

  • Restrooms - All but two sets of restrooms are accessible, with cement sidewalk areas leading to the restroom.

  • Camping - There are no accessible campsites at Lowden.

  • Boating - The Lowden S.P. boat launch area has three docks.  All three have railings and a ramp allowing wheelchair access. One is designated as an ADA dock with railing on one side, the side without railing is to allow access to a boat.  The parking area is all asphalt that transitions to a sidewalk onto the docks, from the designated parking spaces to the docks is approximately 20 yds. The dock surface is a composite board deck.

  • Service animals are welcome in the park, and water hydrants are available in the campground area. Any waste products from the animal would need to be cleaned up if able to do so.
