Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

​Accessibility at Mississippi Palisades: 

  • Parking - Parking lots are paved with accessible parking spaces, and concrete sidewalks attached to parking lots. 

  • Trails - The Oak Point Lookout trail is a 200' concrete wheelchair accessible trail. 

  • Camping - There are three non-reservable accessible campsites (31, 32, 33) and four reservable accessible campsites (122, 123, 217, 218) all with wheelchair accessible picnic tables and grills. Reservations can be made through ExploreMoreIL™. There are accessible flush toilets and showers in the all three shower buildings in the campground.  

  • Restrooms - In the CCC shelter, there is an accessible flush toilet. There are nine accessible vault toilets located throughout the park. 

  • Service animals are welcome in the park. There are outdoor water hydrants available.
