Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

Attention hunters: Visit our FAQ page for information about the use of centerfire, single-shot rifles for deer hunting in Illinois.

Accessibility at Morrison-Rockwood:

  • Parking - All the parking lots are asphalt with designated accessible parking spaces. There is a small step into the park office.

  • Restrooms - There are accessible vault toilets throughout the park, and accessible flush toilets in the shower building in the campground.

  • Camping - There are 4 designated ADA campsites, each with a large paved area for vehicle and camper to fit as well as the space in front of the camper being paved to allow for easier wheelchair use. For reservations please visit ExploreMoreIL™.

  • Picnicking - All shelters have a parking area with a set of vault toilets and a concrete sidewalk leading to them from the parking area. Distance to the toilets from the parking area is approximately 20-30'.

  • Fishing - There is a covered dock/fishing platform with a sidewalk and ramp leading to it.  This covered dock has accessible parking just in front of it. The covered dock is wood construction with wooden planks as the surface. There are three ADA compliant docks, they have a winding sloped sidewalk leading to each dock from boat launch parking area.  Middle dock has railing laid out in a fashion to help get into/out of a boat. The dock surface is constructed of a composite deck board material.

  • Concession - The park concession is open late spring through early fall. There is a wheelchair ramp leading to the entrance. There is a mildly steep decline sidewalk leading to the lower level of the concession where the boat/kayak rentals take place.

  • Service animals are welcome in the park, and there are several water hydrants available in the day use area and campground. All waste produced from the animal would need to be cleaned up if able.
