Project Title: Monitoring and Evaluating the Status of Bumble Bees in Illinois

Community and/or Species Focus: Bumble bees

Goals/Objectives:
  1. Establish a monitoring program for bumble bees throughout the state
  2. Investigate the statewide distribution of bumble bees, with focus on listed, SGCN, and watch-list species
  3. Develop a comprehensive list of bumble bee species of Illinois and assess changes in their distribution and conservation status
  4. Provide management recommendations
Achievements:
  1. ​Documentation and monitoring of bumble bee species within various habitats throughout Illinois
  2. Baseline data concerning bumble bee diversity and distributions in the state
  3. Documents including state species lists, distribution maps, and bumble bee identification materials
  4. Documentation of sites where federally listed, state SGCN listed, and state watch listed species are located
