Project Title: Repatriation as a Mechanism for Restoring a Pond-breeding Amphibian Community
Community and/or Species Focus:
Tiger salamander
Goals/Objectives:
- Restore pre-settlement levels of amphibian diversity in previously known fish ponds through repatriation of tiger salamanders
Achievements:
- Ponds were trapped and potential predators were removed; restoration attempts failed
- Other amphibian populations increased, as well as species richness
- Tiger salamander adults are being maintained in outdoor enclosures in hopes of providing a future population for repatriation
