Project Title: Revision and Update of the Illinois Wildlife Action Plan's Streams Campaign
Community and/or Species Focus: n/a
Goals/Objectives:
- Develop a narrative describing the status of the Streams Campaign
- Develop a narrative for the Streams Campaign describing the selection and prioritization of focal themes
- Develop a narrative for the Streams Campaign containing Action Items to address priorities and data deficiencies within focal themes
Achievements:
- Information associated with aquatic habitats and species as part of the Illinois Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Plan and Strategy was reviewed and consolidated to revise the Streams Campaign
- Progress of IWAP implementation was reviewed in order to describe current conditions for aquatic habitat and SGNC
- Conservation needs for aquatic habitat and SGNC were updated and prioritized into focal themes
- Four types of conservation priorities for Illinois watersheds were defined based on biodiversity and connectivity
- Several sections of the Streams Campaign were revised and incorporated into the draft, including Stresses/Threats, Focal Areas, Focal Species, and Performance Measures
- Actions to address Campaign priorities were revised and identified
