Project T-130-R1

Project Title: An Evaluation of Fish, Amphibian and Reptile Diversity, Abundance, Habitat Use and Reproduction in Buttonland Swamp

Community and/or Species Focus:

 Fish, Amphibians, and Reptiles

Goals/Objectives:
  1. Evaluate amphibian diversity, abundance, habitat use and reproduction in relationship to Buttonland Swamp hydrology
  2. Evaluate reptile diversity, abundance, habitat use and reproduction in relationship to Buttonland Swamp hydrology
  3. Evaluate relationships between Buttonland Swamp hydrology and fish assemblage structure, relative abundance and habitat use
  4. Evaluate relationships between Buttonland Swamp hydrology and fish recruitment
Achievements:
  1. Provide critical data to assessing how amphibian diversity, abundance and reproduction can vary with defined hydrologic management regimes and climate patterns
  2. Provide estimates of reptile population and recruitment dynamics in relation to habitat and hydrological conditions
  3. Provide data detailing how fish assemblage, structure, relative abundance and habitat use vary seasonally in relation to hydrological patterns and habitat conditions
  4. Assessment of how the timing of changes in water elevation influences the relative abundance of early life stages among years and subsequent recruitment into the population
