Features and Behaviors
FEATURES
The female of this species is about one-fourth inch in total body length. The male is slightly smaller, from about 0.15 to 0.18 inch in length. There are black lines that extend from the anterior median eyes downward to the mouthparts. The female is often light green with white hairs on the back. Brown or black stripes are present on the back as well. The male has an orange cephalothorax and black palps.
BEHAVIORS
Found statewide, the striped lynx spider lives in prairies and old fields. Adults are active in spring and early summer. They are frequent jumpers.
