Features and Behaviors

FEATURES
Narrow-leaved green milkweed grows up to three feet in height. Pairs of leaves are arranged opposite each other on the stem. Seedpods are up to five inches in length. Flowers are positioned in the leaf axils and are white in color.

BEHAVIORS
Narrow-leaved green milkweed flowers June through July. This species grows in a few counties in west central Illinois in hill prairies and upland woods along the Mississippi River. Narrow-leaved green milkweed reaches its northeastern range limit in the state. It is endangered in Illinois.
